Thanks to my experience, constant work and training, I can help you with this. After the operation, when the defects that bother you so much will disappear, you will feel a new influx of energy, strength and good mood. Life will begin to flow for you in the brightest colors. Without being complex because of your appearance, you will successfully conquer previously insurmountable obstacles. Together we can achieve a new quality of life for you.
Questions you may have:
Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery: Patient Guide1. Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)Why is the surgery needed?
As with any cosmetic surgery, the primary goal of the operation is to improve appearance, thereby boosting the patient's morale, self-satisfaction, and self-confidence, which ultimately leads to an overall improvement in the quality of life.
What is the goal of the surgery?
The goal of the surgery is to provide a nose shape that will make you happier. At the same time, the nose must retain its primary function: breathing.
What can plastic surgeons do? What changes to the nose are possible?
In our clinic, you can "order" a nose of practically any shape and size—naturally, within general aesthetic norms. Our specialists can make your nose shorter, narrower, or longer, remove a hump, and even increase its size if necessary. During the consultation, you will work together with the surgeon to choose the desired shape of your future nose. After the surgery, your face will acquire the desired features and attractiveness.
Is it possible to undergo rhinoplasty simultaneously with breast augmentation?
Yes, we can help you with that. Simultaneous (combined) procedures are frequently performed at the request of patients. We perform complex transformations where the following procedures take place under a single anesthesia:
  • Plastic surgery of the nose, ears, or eyelids;
  • Mammoplasty or abdominoplasty;
  • Liposuction of the required body areas.
My nose looks quite neat, but sometimes it wheezes so loudly that I can hear it myself. A medical friend said it's likely a deviated nasal septum. But my nose is completely straight!
Wheezing is a sign of obstructed nasal breathing. There can be many reasons for this:
  • A deviated nasal septum;
  • Consequences of vasomotor rhinitis;
  • Polyps;
  • Foreign objects (so-called rhinoliths).
It is essential to find the cause and get treatment. As for the deviated septum... This internal deformity is not necessarily linked to the curvature of the external bone and cartilage structures of the nose and may be completely unnoticeable from the outside (even though it most often results from trauma). It can only be corrected surgically.
Important: You should not delay your visit to a specialist, as obstructed breathing can lead to chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, hearing loss, cardiovascular problems, and other health issues.
What is the difference between closed and open rhinoplasty?
Generally, there is no need for a future patient to delve deeply into the nuances of professional techniques—there are far too many of them. It is more useful to know that rhinoplastic surgeries are the least suited to standardized solutions. The surgeon must take into account:
  • The condition and type of the patient's skin;
  • The development of the bony framework;
  • The structure and elasticity of cartilage and tissues;
  • The future process of internal scarring, and much more.
Depending on these individual features, the specialist chooses a specific approach to solve the problem. Furthermore, the doctor must possess excellent spatial reasoning and flawless skills. It is for good reason that rhinoplasty is considered the most complex area of plastic surgery. Therefore, it is best not to worry about highly specialized questions and trust a professional instead.
How to choose a surgeon?
When choosing a surgeon who is to change your life for the better, it is necessary to follow a few rules:
  1. Gathering information: Initial reviews can be obtained from acquaintances who have already undergone surgery with this doctor and were satisfied. If there are none, turn to the Internet and specialized publications.
  2. Consultation: The next stage is a personal meeting. Here, your best advisor is your intuition. During the conversation, you will always feel whether this is your doctor or not.
In which cases is the endoscopic method used?
Endoscopes in rhinosurgery are used for diagnosis and, increasingly, for gentle surgical treatment. With the help of an endoscope, it is possible to examine the organ from the inside in the smallest detail, projecting a greatly magnified image onto a monitor.
Looking at it, surgeons correct deformities of cartilage and bone structures, polyps, adenoids, and excess mucous membrane with high precision—everything that obstructs breathing. In aesthetic nose correction, endoscopes are used to achieve a more precise result and minimize tissue trauma.
At what age can one undergo surgery?
  • For girls: Surgery is not recommended before the age of 15–16;
  • For boys: Not before the age of 17.
By this age, the development of facial bones and tissues is usually complete. These limits are not an absolute dogma, as every organism develops individually. However, in our view, it is better not to rush, so as not to disturb growth zones and trigger unpredictable deformities.
Surgeries performed earlier than these reasonable periods are justified only when there is a severe breathing impairment or significant congenital/traumatic defects (it is better to correct them before irreparable shifts in the child's psyche occur). There are no upper age limits. Surgery at an early age is possible in our clinic after consultation with an endocrinologist and with parental consent.
Will the traces of the surgery be noticeable?
  • With the closed method: Incisions are made on the mucous membrane inside the nose, so the scars are completely invisible.
  • With open rhinoplasty: A trace remains in the form of a short broken line on the columella (the tissue bridge separating the nostrils). It is less noticeable than a straight scar, and after a few weeks, it becomes hard to see.
  • When reducing the nostrils: The scar is hidden in the natural skin fold between the cheek and the nostril wing.
Is rhinoplasty painful?
As a rule, the surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It is well-tolerated, and patients feel nothing. In the postoperative period, there is no pain in the nose area as such. The greatest discomfort is caused by the need to breathe through the mouth, as gauze tampons remain in the nose for 3–4 days to support the tissues. At the patient's request, the surgery can also be performed under local anesthesia.
What will I look like after the surgery?
  • Immediately after surgery: A butterfly-shaped plaster cast is applied, which is removed after 1–2 weeks.
  • The first weeks: Bruises under the eyes and major swelling subside within 1–3 weeks. This is a natural process that does not affect the final result.
  • Final shaping of the nose: Takes from several months to half a year (sometimes up to a year). During this time, the nose may appear slightly puffy, the tip of the nose may react to temperature changes, and skin numbness may persist. To those around you, your appearance will look completely normal just 2 weeks after the surgery.
How soon after surgery can I go back to work?
Usually, patients return to work after the swelling subsides. After correcting only the internal septum (septoplasty), there are no bruises on the face, so you can go back to work as early as the 4th or 5th day.
Restrictions: After rhinoplasty, it is prohibited to visit baths, saunas, engage in sports, or perform heavy physical labor for at least one month.
Can the shape of the nose change over time after surgery?
Relapses are extremely rare—the effect of the surgery is permanent. However, sometimes (after about half a year), minor corrective procedures are performed. A risk of shape alteration exists during saddle nose correction, where grafts from a rib or femur are used, as the transplanted cartilage can partially resorb. An honest surgeon will always warn you about this in advance. One should also not forget about natural aging: in mature age, the nose may slightly lengthen, and the tip may drop due to the loss of skin elasticity.
Is it possible to correct the shape of the nose and restore nasal breathing at the same time? And get a facelift as well?
Yes. When it comes to correcting a nose after a trauma, combining aesthetic plastic surgery and septum restoration is technologically necessary. As for combining it with a rejuvenating facelift or other surgeries—yes, such simultaneous interventions are frequently performed at the request of patients.
I was severely bitten by a dog... The tip of my nose was sewn back on, but I am not satisfied with how it looks. Does plastic surgery help in such cases?
Help can certainly be provided. The specific plan of action (correcting the shape of the tip, plastic surgery using local tissues, or simply scar correction) is determined during a personal consultation.
It is best to consult a plastic surgeon immediately after a trauma. For instance, in the case of fractures, the bones remain mobile for 3–5 days, and they can easily be repositioned with minimal intervention. Of course, if the trauma was accompanied by a concussion, the primary task is to restore general health, and only then focus on facial aesthetics.
2. Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)
Otoplasty is a surgical intervention aimed at correcting the appearance, shape, and size of the auricle (outer ear).
In which cases do patients turn to a plastic surgery clinic for otoplasty?
The reasons can vary:
  • Protruding ears (prominent ears);
  • Large auricles (macrotia);
  • Small auricles (microtia);
  • Flat ear, cartilage without a distinct pattern;
  • Pointed ear ("macaque ear");
  • Absence of the auricle (anotia);
  • Elongated or large earlobes;
  • Various defects of post-traumatic origin (including torn earlobes, consequences of gauging/tunnels, injuries, etc.).
Why do patients decide on otoplasty surgery?
The reason is simple: a person always sees the defect of their own auricle in the mirror and tries to hide it from others. However, the owner of such ears finds it inconvenient to always wear long hairstyles, hats, or hoods, which, by the way, by no means guarantees keeping this small but troublesome secret.
Plastic Surgery for Protruding Ears: Ear Aesthetics
Aesthetic preferences regarding ear auricles have varied greatly across different times and cultures:
  • In some regions of the world, having large ears or large earlobes is considered incredibly beautiful—they are even specifically stretched for this purpose (the fashion of inserting rings into earlobes and gradually increasing their size came to Europeans from Africa).
  • In China, owners of protruding ears are considered smart, perceptive, and successful individuals (though prominent ear correction is still performed quite often there).
  • In Europe and North America, auricles of medium size that fit moderately close to the head, feature smooth shapes, and have a well-defined cartilage pattern are considered aesthetically ideal.
How surgical treatment of ear deformities is performed
Surgical treatment consists of several stages:
  1. Consultation
  2. Preoperative screening
  3. Preoperative preparation
  4. The surgery itself
  5. Postoperative rehabilitation
1. Consultation
Necessary for you and your surgeon to reach a consensus and mutual understanding regarding your specific case, possible solutions to the problem, and most importantly—an understanding of the final result. The surgeon and the patient must clearly know what the patient will look like after the surgery.
2. Preoperative Screening
Mandatory! Planned plastic surgeries are performed on patients against a background of complete health and well-being.
Contraindications to surgery: the presence of pustular and inflammatory skin diseases, chronic diseases in the acute stage, internal organ failure, and many other reasons. The presence or absence of contraindications is revealed by a doctor's examination during the consultation and laboratory tests.
3. Preoperative Preparation
Performed based on indications. In some cases, there is a need to take certain medications; sometimes, it is necessary to undergo procedures, such as physiotherapy.
4. Surgery
Otoplasty surgery is easily tolerated by patients. Most often, it is performed under local anesthesia, and the discomfort felt is less than during a visit to the dentist.
  • Patient position: Lying on the back with the head turned to the opposite ear.
  • Duration: In our clinic—from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the complexity of the deformity. During this time, the surgeon will shape the auricle to the required form and size.
  • Scar: The postoperative scar is thin, barely noticeable, located in the fold behind the ear, and additionally concealed by the auricle itself.
5. Postoperative Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation takes from 7 to 15 days. Everything depends on the initial deformity of the auricle and the surgical technique applied in each specific case.
  • Wearing a protective bandage: Mandatory for at least 7 days.
  • Dressings: Visiting the clinic is necessary to care for the scar and monitor the healing process. In general, you need to see the doctor 2 to 5 times.
  • Additional procedures: In some cases, a rehabilitation program is prescribed, most often physical therapy (ultrasound, laser therapy, electrophoresis, etc.).
  • Physical activity: During the first 10–15 days, the patient must avoid physical exertion, especially activities involving bending forward.
  • Diet: Quite simple. It is recommended to avoid hot, spicy, and hard food.
3. Mammoplasty (Breast Surgery)Is it safe to undergo breast surgery for aesthetic purposes?
All aesthetic breast surgeries are performed primarily on the skin and subcutaneous tissue. The glandular tissue is not subjected to any intervention!
How long does the surgery last, and what is the rehabilitation like afterward?
  • Duration: Augmentation mammoplasty lasts an average of 1–1.5 hours; a breast lift or reduction takes slightly longer.
  • Hospital stay: 1–2 days.
  • Dressings and suture removal: 2 weeks (at the patient's request, non-removable/absorbable sutures can be used).
  • Restricting physical activity: From 1.5 to 3 months, depending on the specific features of the surgery.
  • Driving: It is advisable to refrain from driving for 1 month.
What are the pain sensations like?
The surgery itself is performed under general anesthesia, so the patient feels nothing. After the surgery, there is a moderate discomfort from wearing tight compression garments and a mild sensation of fullness (similar to when breast milk comes in). After 3–4 days, these phenomena gradually pass.
Do implants harm a woman's health?
In our daily practice, we use only certified implants from the world's leading manufacturing companies. Modern implants offer a wide range of shapes and sizes and are natural to the touch. Every patient receives a lifetime warranty certificate for the installed products. Our more than 20 years of experience in breast augmentation confirms the safety conclusions reached by leading clinics in the USA and Europe.
Is it possible to breastfeed after mammoplasty?
A year or two after breast surgery, women can confidently plan to have a child. More than 40 years of experience using shell implants has proven their inertness and complete safety for both the woman and her future child. Following the "silicone controversy" in the USA in the early '90s, numerous studies found no evidence of harm from breast implants. The FDA commission proved the complete safety of mammoplasty products from leading manufacturers.
How will the operated breast change after pregnancy?
Changes to the operated breast after pregnancy and lactation will vary depending on the individual characteristics of the organism; however, the fibrous framework (subcutaneous scars) will help prevent breast sagging (ptosis).
Will "stretch marks" on the breasts become more noticeable after surgery?
Mammoplasty surgeries do not cause stretch marks. During a breast lift, a portion of the loose skin is removed. After any plastic surgery, the breasts become firmer, folds smooth out, and the skin becomes smooth and even. After a light tan, the traces of past pregnancy disappear without a trace!
Is it allowed to sunbathe or visit a solarium?
Restrictions after the surgery will be lifted by your doctor in 1–2 months. After that, you return to normal life, just at a significantly higher quality.
Will nipple sensitivity be preserved after surgery?
Nipple sensitivity fully recovers within 2–3 weeks. In some patients, it even increases.
Will the traces of the surgery be noticeable?
Modern mammoplasty techniques involve practically unnoticeable scars in the fold under the breast, in the armpit, or along the border of the areola and skin. The application of postoperative physiotherapeutic procedures and modern silicone-based creams allows making them nearly invisible.
Is it okay to gain or lose weight after surgery?
A change in body weight will not affect your overall health or the health of your breasts in particular. However, only the aesthetics might suffer, as prior to the surgery, you and your doctor discussed specific parameters of your body. It is recommended to reach your ideal weight before the surgery and maintain the achieved results. In the case of a permanent change in weight and physique, correction via lipofilling and liposculpture is possible.
What breast size would you recommend?
We always strive to create breasts of the desired shape and size for each patient. Any wishes that do not contradict aesthetics and common sense are fulfilled. Very small breasts look unnatural on a woman, while excessively large ones are quite inconvenient and require constant wearing of supportive lingerie. In our view, a size of 2.5–3.5 with a teardrop shape is optimal.
In fact, studies have been conducted to determine the parameters of the ideal breast. Researchers among artists, anthropologists, and plastic surgeons derived the following reference points for a European woman with a height of 165–170 cm and an average build:

Parameter

Optimal Distance

Distance from the suprasternal notch (clavicle notch) to the nipple

18–20 cm

Distance from the midpoint of the clavicle to the nipple

18–20 cm

Distance between nipples

18–20 cm

Distance from the areola to the inframammary fold (under-breast crease)

5–7 cm

Distance between the left and right breasts

1–3 cm

Diameter of the areola

4–6 cm

Projection of the lateral (outer) edges of the breasts beyond the chest wall

1–3 cm

  • Shape: teardrop-shaped in profile, oval in full face (with maximum length horizontally).
4. Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)Preoperative Preparation
During the consultation, the doctor will assess your general health, evaluate your aesthetic concerns, and suggest tailored solutions. Every patient must undergo a mandatory preoperative screening, which includes a comprehensive panel of necessary medical tests.
  • Two weeks prior to surgery: You must stop taking medications containing aspirin, ibuprofen, and Vitamin E. It is also highly recommended to limit smoking.
  • The evening before surgery: Do not consume any food after 18:00 (6:00 PM).
  • The morning of the surgery: If the procedure is performed under general anesthesia, you must not drink any liquids.
  • What to bring: It is advisable to bring sunglasses to the clinic to comfortably camouflage the post-operative dressings afterward.
Anesthesia in Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty can be performed under general anesthesia, meaning the patient remains asleep and feels nothing until the operation is completed and the dressing is applied.
However, our surgeons frequently perform these procedures under local anesthesia following a few injections with an ultra-thin needle. The sensation is no more uncomfortable than a routine visit to the dentist. Under local anesthesia, our patients communicate freely and comfortably with the medical staff throughout the entire operation.
Please note: There is no postoperative pain. You may only experience mild discomfort.
Postoperative Rehabilitation
  • Wearing a firm dressing: Required for 2 hours or more.
  • Sunglasses: To be worn for up to 5–7 days.
  • Dressings: 2–3 follow-up visits at intervals of 2–3 days.
  • Suture removal: Done after 5–8 days, depending on the scope and complexity of the surgery.
  • Bruising and swelling: These disappear within 7–10 days. If necessary, physiotherapy procedures—which can be completed at any local outpatient clinic—may be prescribed to accelerate recovery.
Important Restrictions:
  • The first month: You must completely avoid physical exertion. Increased blood pressure (hypertension) from physical strain can cause secondary bleeding. Prohibited activities include hot showers, baths, saunas, as well as exercises, housework, or gardening that involve bending over.
  • The first 2–4 months: You will need to strictly adhere to a specific water and salt regimen. This involves eliminating excessive amounts of salty, sour, fried, and smoked foods from your diet.
  • Medication intake: During this same period, all medications must be taken exclusively as prescribed and monitored by your surgeon.
Long-term Effectiveness of Blepharoplasty
The favorable effects of eyelid surgery typically last for at least 7–10 years, and in most cases, remain permanent.
As a rule, postoperative scars are not visible: initially slightly pink, they become virtually invisible within 1–2 months. To prevent scar thickening (for example, if you are genetically predisposed to dense keloid or hypertrophic scarring), it is recommended to undergo physiotherapeutic treatment some time after the surgery:
  • Ultrasound phonophoresis;
  • Laser therapy or heat treatments;
  • Diprospan injections;
  • Application of silicone-based products (such as Strataderm or Dermatix);
  • Short-focus Bucky border-ray therapy, etc.
Your surgeon will outline your specific, customized treatment plan.
Contraindications to Blepharoplasty
Contraindications are divided into general and local:
  • General: Colds, inflammatory and pustular skin conditions, as well as chronic diseases in the acute stage.
  • Local: Acute and chronic diseases of the eyelids and conjunctiva (the mucous membrane covering the inner surface of the eyelids and part of the eyeball).
Mandatory requirement: The patient must inform the surgeon about all past and present medical conditions affecting the eyes and the surrounding eye area.
